When you visit our office, our dentist and team will work with you to determine which type of restoration is most appropriate for your needs. We will examine your mouth and discuss your oral health and treatment options with you so that you are fully informed and can make the decision which is best for your oral health and individual needs.
Dental crowns and bridges are among the most common restorative treatments available. Each type of treatment has its own benefits, and we will work with you to determine which option will be most beneficial for you.
- Dental Crowns – Crowns (caps) fit over the entire visible portion of your tooth above the gum line. They are designed to strengthen and protect your tooth from further damage, and restore the shape, appearance and function of the treated tooth. Crowns are custom-designed, and are bonded in place over your tooth for a long-lasting solution.
- Dental Bridges – Bridges are non-removable replacement teeth, and are often recommended when you have lost a single tooth or several teeth in a row. Your dental bridge will be held in place by two crowns on either side of the gap in your smile. Bridges work by restore your smile, your ability to chew and speak normally, prevent your remaining teeth from shifting out of place and support your facial tissues.
Dental crowns and bridges may also be used to complete an implant treatment.
